Google Android might just play nice with Loongson processors

While there is no word on a Google Android-powered netbook just yet from any major netbook manufacturer, machines powered by Loongson processors from China might just change the trend, with China’s Lemote Technology currently working on porting Google Android over to that particular platform. It seems that said company already has a demo version of Android that folks using Loongson-powered netbooks are able to download and take it out for a spin. What do you thikn – could this change the landscape of netbooks?

Android Android is mobile operating system from Google. The software was originally built by a company called Android Inc, that was purchased by Google in 2005. From its modest debuts, Android has become a powerhouse that powers not only smartphones and tablet, but a host of other less high-profile devices and gadgets. Although Android is not a community-driven project, Google does release the source code as open-source under the Apache license.
