HTC HD2 Confirmed To Not Get Windows Phone 7 Upgrade

Despite earlier rumors that the popular HTC HD2 might be getting a Windows Phone 7 Series upgrade, it seems that the rumor has just been quashed, and you’ll need to get a phone with newer hardware in order to enjoy Windows Phone 7 Series. The reason cited is apparently the requirement for there to be only three buttons on the device, instead of the five that the HD2 offers. We’ve brought up the issue before about the number of buttons, so it seems that if your phone doesn’t have three buttons on the face of it, it’s out. Considering that Windows Phone 7 Series is a whole new take from Microsoft, perhaps it’s good that you pair it up with the latest hardware anyways. Or course, there’s always a possibly that someone will figure out a way to get Windows Phone 7 Series running on the HD2 unofficially.
