Word is going around the MacBook Pro supplies to retailers have become constrained recently, though there isn’t any official confirmation whether the supply issue is due to the recent news of Intel having trouble keeping up with demand, an impending hardware refresh, or both. Of course, we’re certainly looking forward to an updated MacBook Pro, and if that’s the cause of the delay, it wouldn’t be that bad, would it? In related news, a user recently emailed Steve Jobs, and got one of those short and rare replies that might hint that something cool is coming along. The email reads “I recognise the need for secrecy etc but I am really losing heart in the lack of vision for the MBP and Mac Pros. Not expecting a response but as someone who has personally switched dozens of people onto the mac way this is a sad email for me to compose.” The reply? “Not to worry.” Hopefully this means that Steve has something up his sleeve, eh?
