Nokia has just announced its acquisition of Novarra, a Chicago-based company that focuses on mobile browsing technologies. Novarra came up with the mobile browser, dubbed the Vision Mobile Browser, which has been used on smartphones and featurephones since 2002. There isn’t any mention of whether Nokia will be reusing the browser, or just cherry picking some tech from it. Nokia mentioned that it plans to “deliver enhanced Internet experiences” on its mobile devices, whatever that means, but as long as it’s good progress, who are we to complain, right?
