PSP Tablet Rumor Surfaces?

Could Sony be gearing up a PlayStation tablet of sorts to take on the challenge of Apple’s soon-to-be-released iPad? There isn’t any official evidence of the existence (or even plans) of such a device, the folks over at the Wall Street Journal hint that the Japanese electronics giant is busy coming up with a portable device that might blur the lines between netbooks, eBook readers, and the PSP. Based on that description, it certainly sounds like some sort of tablet or gaming device. Aside from that, there are also whispers of a smartphone that can download and play PlayStation games - PSP phone perhaps?
