It is no coincidence that this buoy-like lamp is called the Sailor, and this idea by Julia Reischel of Germany comes with a weighted bottom, letting you lean the lamp in an angled position when required. Featuring a built-in motion sensor that makes the light dimmer, it will do so whenever the light bulb gets nearer to the ground. No idea on whether this is still under the conceptual umbrella at time of publishing, but it certainly looks fun enough to have at home, and would make for a great conversation starter. We are just concerned whenever the lamp rocks into a wall or floor hard enough – would it break into smithereens, posing a threat to children and those living under the same roof?
