Samsung has priced their Beat R1 portable media player as it comes in two capacities – 8GB and 16GB, where they are going for $149.99 and $179.99, respectively. Measuring a mere 8.9mm thin while tipping the scales at 50 grams, the R1 is smaller than a credit card while cramming in a 2.6? LCD touchscreen display (now how about that!), an integrated FM radio and recorder, Bluetooth connectivity as well as enough juice to last for up to 50 hours for audio playback or 4 hours for video. Other features include DivX support for video files, as well as Samsung’s fantastic Digital Natural Sound Engine (DNSe) 3.0 sound enhancement technology. You can pick up the R1 in pink, black and silver colors.
