A high level Sony representative recently leaked out that the battery life for their TDG-BR100 and TDG-BR50 active shutter 3D glasses to be rated at approximately 100 hours of use – this is due to the fact that the glasses kick in only when they receive the 3D synchronization signal from the TV, otherwise they will conserve energy by entering into standby mode. When launched, Sony will release only battery powered glasses, without any induction-based (e.g. Powermat) models in the pipeline.
