TDK Corporation has unveiled its latest storage solution, the SHG2A half-slim type solid state drive (SSD). The SHG2A is targeted for use in industrial applications, as well as thin client PCs, tablets, smart phones and eBook readers. It offers storage capacities all the way up to 32GB, and in a package that’s roughly half the size of a 1.8-inch hard drive. It sports a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, 128-bit AES automatic encryption, and maximum read/write speeds of 95MB/s and 28MB/s respectively. The SHG2A SSDs will enter mass production in April, which is just around the corner.
