TerreStar Genus runs on Windows Mobile

The TerreStar Genus which was unveiled at CTIA 2010 (finally, it is in the flesh!)is touted to be the first smartphone in the world that features 3G as well as satellite capabilities while running on the Windows Mobile 6.5.3 platform. Specifications include a 2.6” QVGA touchscreen display, 100MB of storage space, a 1,400 mAh battery, H.264 video playback, a 3-megapixel camera, GPS support, Wi-Fi, and connectivity with satellites. Basically, you have no excuse not to pick up a call anymore since it is possible to receive a signal at all times, regardless of which part of the planet you’re on at the moment. It isn’t automatic though, so there is still a switch to flip to if you want to juggle between satellite and 3G connectivity.
