The Textile Synthesizer by Jeannine Han and Dan Riley who hail from the Swedish School of Textiles is pretty interesting since this concept will be able to turn any clothing into a MIDI interface. Touch sensors just like the ones found in the iPod as well as other touchscreen displays have been woven into the textile, while an AVR micro-controller with special touch-sensing code will convert the hand gestures into musical commands for the music generator which will rock out with sound. The entire textile sensory area starts from the neck area to the waist, capable of producing smooth values smooth over the entire range.
