The Motorola Droid Update On Thursday Was For Testers Only

If you’re wondering how Thursday came and went without you getting the highly anticipated Motorola Droid Android 2.1 update, we’ve got a tidbit of news for you. According to Tom Pica, a Verizon spokesperson, the update wasn’t delayed, as was previously reported, but the Android 2.1 update was deployed to a small number of Verizon test users (as scheduled). It’s good to know that Verizon apparently sent out the Android 2.1 updates, since that means it’s (almost) ready, though the downer is that most users out there probably didn’t get any update if they weren’t part of the test users. Hopefully Verizon will be able to get this sorted out soon, and serve the Android 2.1 update to Motorola Droid users already.
