Western Digital has unveiled a new My Passport Studio portable drive for Macs that boast the incredibly fast FireWire 800 interface alongside a customizable e-label which remains visible at all times, even when there is no power and the drive is left unplugged. This drive is specially formatted for Mac computers, and will play nice with Apple TimeMachine software. Among the features of the new My Passport Studio include automatic and continuous backup with WD SmartWare software alongside 256-bit hardware-based encryption. Depending on your needs, the My Passport Studio drives will come in 320GB, 500GB and 640GB capacities, retailing from $149.99 to $199.99 and accompanied by a 3-year limited warranty. [Press Release]
