The Witspad W8 Mobile Internet Device (MID) does look like a smartphone at first glance, something which hails from the HTC family of devices, but we guess we are wrong because it lacks SMS support, which disqualifies it from being a full handset replacement. Hardware specifications include the Maemo OS, a 806MHz Marvell PXA 320 processor, a 4.3″ touchscreen display, 128MB RAM, 256MB ROM, a 3.2-megapixel camera, a 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS support, Wi-Fi connectivity and CDMA2000 3G connectivity. It is currently going for around $470 after conversion in China.
