Android Market Passes The 50,000 App Mark

While Apple is still tops when it comes to its App Store, there’s no denying that the Android Market is also growing at a very rapid pace. According to latest reports, the Android Market has crossed the 50,000 app mark, which is just about a week after Google officially confirmed the 38,000 app mark. 50,000 is still significantly behind the App Store’s official 185,000, but at the rate it’s progressing, it’ll provide some healthy competition. Android Android is mobile operating system from Google. The software was originally built by a company called Android Inc, that was purchased by Google in 2005. From its modest debuts, Android has become a powerhouse that powers not only smartphones and tablet, but a host of other less high-profile devices and gadgets. Although Android is not a community-driven project, Google does release the source code as open-source under the Apache license.
