Android phones to get NFC

Android-powered smartphones will soon be able to engage the power of Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. Just what is NFC? Well, it is a short-range high-frequency wireless communication technology which lets devices exchange data between them, for example, using your handset to pay for your purchases simply by swinging it near an NFC terminal. Expect the first Android-powered NFC-enabled smartphones to roll out this year, with more to come in the first half of the next. What other practical applications can you think of for NFC-enabled handsets?
