Interesting rumor – it seems that Barnes & Noble is working on expanding its line of Nook readers as soon as the next few weeks, with a stripped-back Nook touted to offer Wi-Fi only being in the pipeline with a $199 price point, while this supposedly new Nook and the regular model will also benefit from an interim firmware update in the form of version 1.4 which will see the addition of a full web browser. Apart from that, another Nook known as Project Encore is most likely to roll out before the year is over, and if so, hopefully before the holiday season in order to make as many sales as possible then. How do you see all this competition heating up the ebook reader scene? Is it favorable to consumers, or just an ego trip for companies?
