Hmmm, to see the words “USB” and “SSD” certainly seems strange, what more when they are merged together to form what looks like a USB flash drive. Going by the nigh unpronounceable moniker, the Buffalo SHD-LVS-BK USB SSD, it will be powered via a USB 2.0 connection, holding 64GB of data while measuring a diminutive 23mm x 10mm x 98 mm. Nice to know that Buffalo has thrown in a physical switch that helps prevent unwanted or accidental deletion of old files as well as stopping new files from being written onto the drive. You will also find TurboPC and TurboCopy functions that are supposed to boost transfer rates, but the jury is still out there on the verdict. Depending on your bank account, you can choose from 3GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities which will retail for $28, $45, $77, $135 and $260, respectively.
