Data Robotics has just announced its latest Drobo FS Network Attached Storage (NAS) device that will come with all the advantages of the Data Robotics BeyondRAID technology, alongside a drop-dead simple setup. Initial impressions of the device have been favorable, with a user claiming that setting up the device is a snap – all you need to do is install the Drobo Dashboard software on a computer on the network, where it will then go ahead and handle all of the setup decisions on your behalf, freeing your brains for other stuff. A dual core processor runs within, where one of the cores will power the embedded proprietary OS and the other core running Linux. Each Drobo FS comes with five 2 TB drives, retailing for $1,449 – any takers?
