DataWind Ubisurfer mini laptop

The DataWind Ubisurfer mini laptop aims to be different from the rest since it is not only an affordable portable computing machine, it also sports a free mobile Internet connection – now how about that! Folks living in the UK will be able to bring one home for around £160 (translated to $243), where it is accompanied by up to 30 hours of free internet access monthly. This updated model will replace the Linux-based operating system with Windows CE 6.0, while shipping with SoftMaker Office for your mobile productivity needs. The hardware remains pretty much the same though with a 7″ 800 x 480 resolution display, 128MB RAM and 1GB of flash memory. It surfs via Wi-Fi and GPRS connectivity – woe to whoever that relies on the latter! If 30 hours per month isn’t enough to satisfy you, you can always fork out more once the plateau has been breached.
