Eken decided not to take the well trodden path of an iPad clone by rolling out its latest Mobile Internet Device (MID) that has yet to be named, where it is powered by a VIA 8505 processor, featuring a 7″ touchscreen display at 800 x 480 resolution, 128MB RAM, 2GB of internal memory that can be augmented with a microSD memory card, and Wi-Fi connectivity. Sounds decent, save for the 128MB RAM which really is far from the minimum required these days. Hopefully the internal operating system is basic and yet decent enough to see action in the hands of consumers. No idea on pricing or availability as at press time.
