
Parents who are worried about whether their children have asthma might be interested to know that a group of Italian researchers have been able to use an electronic nose to detect asthma in patients with a rather high rate of success. The electronic nose is made up of an array of gas sensors, and when exposed to the air from patients, will be able to sniff out the presence of asthma with about 87.5 percent accuracy. Not too bad, now only if it could cure asthma.
