Google Earth unavailable after Android 2.1 update

Some users of the Motorola DROID who have already upgraded their device to Android 2.1 realized that Google Earth does not work for them any more simply because it is not available in the Android Market. Of course, others have already experienced performance issues as well, so for those who have yet to make the upgrade jump, why not hold it off until an official word from Google or Verizon Wireless addresses the issue, assuming you’re an avid user of Google Earth?
