HP has officially introduced its laser printers that offer theHP Smart Install technology, promising “Plug and Print” laser printers, ditching the traditional CD as a medium for installation. With the new way of doing things, all you need to do is plug the printer into the computer via a USB cable, and the software will be loaded automatically. With this in place, at least you won’t have to go around hunting for your printer’s driver CD when you decide to purchase a new computer one year later. Mono printers that will offer this functionality include the HP LaserJet Pro P1100, the multifunction LaserJet Pro M1130/M1210 and the LaserJet Pro P1566/P1606dn.
