Miphone A3 has Android as operating system of choice

Isn’t this ironic – an iPhone clone known as the Miphone A3 will at least not run on a knockoff version of the iPhone OS, but will instead rely on the open source Android OS albeit with a user interface that does resemble the iPhone’s just to keep the folks at Apple hot under the collar. Features include a 3″ HVGA capacitive touchscreen display with multi-touch capability, Wi-Fi connectivity, WCDMA support and Android 1.5. Shame about the operating system version though, as they could have at least thrown in Android 1.6 at the very least. No word on pricing and availability as at press time though.

Android Android is mobile operating system from Google. The software was originally built by a company called Android Inc, that was purchased by Google in 2005. From its modest debuts, Android has become a powerhouse that powers not only smartphones and tablet, but a host of other less high-profile devices and gadgets. Although Android is not a community-driven project, Google does release the source code as open-source under the Apache license
