Nikon patent is a weird shaped LCD display

What you see above could possible be from the Nikon E3 DSLR model that was released all the way back in 1998 – yes, a dozen years ago, but it is interesting to note that it could very well be some other model. Dubbed as patent application 20100103283, this aims to reduce power consumption in a camera alongside an oddly shaped LCD display. It would be interesting to find out what kind of camera chassis would accommodate such an LCD display. Guess we can always keep our eyes peeled, eh?
