Nomadic Plant hybrid

Mexican artist Gilberto Esparza has come up with his latest piece known as Planta Nomada, or Nomadic Plant in plain English. This machine-plant hybrid will carry both plants and microorganisms from the polluted Lerma Santiago River in Mexico, where it will get to work by converting waterborne elements into electrical energy. Meant to be a multi-legged, autonomous robot that is powered by a microbial fuel cell, it will head towards water to suck it up through a tube and converting its contents into electricity whenever its microorganisms need some nourishment, now how about that! Hopefully the robot’s got some pretty solid legs to prevent itself from tumbling headlong into the river!
