OCZ Z-Drive R2 Solid State Drive Series enter mass production

The OCZ Z-Drive R2 Solid State Drive Series (what you see above is its predecessor) has now entered mass production, being the second addition to the original Z-Drive family. It aims to increase the performance ante further by maximizing bandwidth, taking the SATA bottleneck out of the equation while utilizing the speed advantages of the PCI-Express interface. What makes it different from its competitors would be the Z-Drive family being bootable alongside 8 PCI-E lanes and an eight-way RAID 0 configuration in order to deliver performance ideal for enterprise applications that are limited by current hard drive technology. Capable of hitting transfer rates up to 1.4 GB/s, it is also a choice data storage solution since it is much more durable than traditional hard drives in the sense that there are no moving parts to worry about, so you need not fret over whether the hard drive head will plough into its platter after a sharp jolt or bump, since neither exist in the SSD. Depending on your budget and needs, the OCZ Z-Drive R2 Solid State Drive Series will come in various capacities from 256GB all the way to 2TB.
