While it hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, another player had been added to the speculation over a takeover bid for Palm, and that entity is China’s Huawei Technologies. Apparently the struggling smartphone maker, Palm, contacted Huawei for preliminary acquisition talks back in February, though apparently the talks haven’t moved forward since then. Huawei has declined to comment on the issue, but that was already expected. Considering that Palm has a market value of $870 million, potential buyers might even have to pay up to $1 billion for Palm. Do you think the end result will be Palm being sold to another company, or will it be able to save itself by licensing some of its patents to other companies?
