If you’ve been keeping up with the news, you probably already know that Palm is having a rather bad day at the office. Next up is news that Palm’s webOS can be hacked by merely using text messaging. This is due to the fact that many of its applications are written with HTML, JavaScript and other standard web technologies, and the webOS SMS client wasn’t performing input/output validation on SMS messages sent to it, leading to a simple HTML injection bug. The good news is that this bug is only application to webOS 1.3.5, and users who have upgraded to 1.4 don’t have to worry about this. Looks like it’s high time to update your webOS device, eh? Check out a video demonstration after the break.
