Runbot2 Is All Wired Up

Do you remember the original Runbot? Well, now we’ve got the Runbot2, and it actually sports four legs, much like a dog. The Runbot2 actually looks like it’s on some kind of sadistic animal test platform, what with all the wires it’s hooked up to, but then again, wires are probably comfortable to robots, right? The runbot2 is about 40cm in length, and it’s able to achieve speeds of 1.3m/sec. The goal of this robot is to create one that could actively switch between a slow trot and a full gallop, probably in an effort to mimic real animals. Maybe Sony would like to check out this Runbot2 if it plans to come up with a new Aibo. Video after the jump.
