Well, that didn’t take too long, did it? Just a few days after Sony announced that their 3.21 firmware update for the PS3 will remove the OtherOS boot option, a temporary workaround has been found. It seems that this firmware change does not change the way Blu-Ray drives work, and will function as normal – which means you could theoretically still run another operating system, no? No idea on whether this is temporary or permanent, but it just goes to show that this game of cat-and-mouse is never quite over, and most of the time the community will find a way around such controls in place.
