Toshiba, who is the world’s second largest NAND flash memory maker behind Samsung, is busy working on the next step in flash technology, which means denser memory chips. The company is currently working on 32nm and 43nm chips, but is looking to move to 25nm chips. With increased densitiy, that means that more memory can be packed into the same space, which translates to more storage for us. As capacities of flash drives and solid state drives (SSD) are getting larger and larger, we’re certainly looking forward to storage capacities doubling and tripling in the near future.
