Some corporate news to start your new work week off – Twitter has just acquired Atebits, the brains behind Tweetie. This will see Tweetie author Loren Brichter being “transferred” to Twitter’s mobile team, making Tweetie the official Twitter app on Apple devices. Apart from that, owners of the new Apple iPad will also be able to benefit from a converted version of Tweetie in the near future. Interesting bit of news, considering Tweetie has been one of the most successful Twitter clients on the App Store albeit being tagged with a $3 price point, which is nearly triple that of most similar apps which go for 99 cents or for free.
