Archos 8 Home Tablet Visits The FCC

When the iPad was unveiled, many folks laughed at its thick bezel, now looking at the FCC documents for what should be the Archos 8 home tablet, we’re reminded how thick bezels can actually be. In the document that Archos submitted, the device is labeled as the Model 7800 Android MID. From the documentation, you’ll notice that it sports the same Rockchip RK2808 SoC (System-on-Chip) found in the Archos 7 home tablet, and a 800 x 480 pixel resistive touchscreen from Hannstar. The funny thing is that Hannstar lists the display as a 7-inch onewhile, while the Archos 8 is supposed to have an 8-inch display. Perhaps the bezel plays a part in the reported display size, eh?
