It seems that Google’s Android is making some headway on a variety of platforms despite the cellphone/smartphone range being the primary mode of propogation – since it is open source, it has also seen action on tablet devices, with the Blue Sky BL10 being the latest. What makes the BL10 slightly different was the fact that it runs on a power-efficient VIA WM8505 CPU, which is an exception to the norm (that usually sees Intel Atom or Snapdragon processors instead). The BL10 is equipped with a 10.1” touchscreen display at 1,024 x 576 resolution, 256MB RAM, up to 32GB of NAND flash memory and an optional VGA camera. No word on pricing, but this doesn’t look as though it will jump through the FCC’s hoops anytime soon.
