Crucial has rolled out a firmware update for the RealSSD C300, but it seems that the update has caused some cases of bricking – that is, rendering the entire SSD useless, albeit coming back to life later with a caveat – it crawled pretty much the whole way, defeating the purpose of ever switching over to an SSD. For others who are not so fortunate, their RealSSD C300 is nothing but an expensive paperweight now, so make sure you avoid firmware version 0002 like the plague until Crucial sorts out this, well, crucial problem.
