For folks who are looking out for a powerful notebook that isn’t powered by Intel’s Core series of processors, you might want to check out Dell’s website which now includes information on its upcoming notebooks that use AMD’s quad-core Phenom II x4 CPUs. The Inspiron M501R on the site will be using AMD’s M880G chipset along with integrated Radeon HD4250 graphics, though you have the choice to add on the Radeon HD 550v discrete graphics components with 1GB of memory. The pricing isn’t available at the time of writing, but you can be sure it’ll cost you a pretty penny. Specifications of the M501R include:
- 15.6-inch LED backlit display
- Hard drive capacities up to 640GB
- DDR3 RAM up to 8GB
- Windows 7 or Windows Vista operating systems
