Devotec Solar Sound 2 Bluetooth speaker packs new innards

Devotec of the UK has just unveiled a new Solar Sound 2 Bluetooth speaker which might resemble the original from many angles, but according to the boffins over at Devotec, this has been redesigned right from the ground up, where it supposedly comes with improved speaker cones, silver-plated oxygen free copper speaker cabling alongside a much more efficient power circuit which supposedly delivers more juice to the amp as well as speakers. Not only that, gold-plated connectors on the unit itself with integrated line-out and a a slightly larger battery offers you anywhere from 5 to 10 hours of use, although that will largely depend on your level of usage. Just as a comparison, its predecessor maxed out at 8 hours, so a 2 hour improvement is nothing to sneeze at. Needless to say, despite it having a solar panel, that doesn’t mean you have to wait for a sunny day to juice it up (takes anywhere from a dozen to 24 hours for a full charge using nothing but sunlight), as there is always the USB and AC adapter route that shortens the recharge time just 4 hours. With Bluetooth connectivity, this can double up as a hands-free speakerphone, playing nice with devices that support A2DP and AVRCP profiles as well. All the above is going for $99.99 – any takers?
