Kids nowadays seem to be getting all the cool gadgets that we never got when we were younger. Now enTourage Systems has announced that it’s teaming up with The Douglas Stewart Company (a leading computer distributor) to help bring the enTourage eDGe DualBook to classrooms. Such a move would give students a cool device to fiddle with in schools, something that they should be quite happy about. In case you aren’t familiar with it, the device sports two displays, one being an eInk display, the other being a normal LCD display. The eInk portion can be used for reading, while the other side can be used to get a tablet computing experience. Benefits include the ability to highlight several words in the book and instantly search the web for information on it using the other display. Do you think that students should be grateful for such technology being put in their hands, or are you a firm supporter of traditional books?
