We’ve all heard the horror stories of users getting some rather unpleasant surprises with their mobile phone bills, and now it seems that the FCC is moving to try and sort this issue out. The European Union model already requires carriers to send text messages to users as they begin to chalk up significant roaming or data fees and the FCC is busy seeking feedback as to whether US carriers should implement a similar system. From a consumer’s point of view, it would be a lot nicer if carriers did send out those text message notifications, after all, we’ve all been through those periods where we’ve accidentally overused our data allocation. Do you have any nightmare carrier charges stories to share? Let us know via the comments section.
