Gmail Now Supports Third-party Contextual Gadgets

It was only a matter of time before it happened, and now Gmail has gotten the green light to support third-party contextual gadgets. What does this mean? Well, these gadgets would be distributed in the Google Apps marketplace, displaying information from social networks, businesses, YouTube and Picasa previews, allowing users to interact with the data right within Gmail, so you won’t have to get too distracted from typing out your important email. It seems like every day there is a new feature from Gmail to make users think twice about using Microsoft Outlook.
