Yes, you heard that right. Even the almighty Google who made a name for itself on the Web could not fight against the average Joe’s preference of purchasing a smartphone by going through the motions of a hands-on experience, not to mention wanting the flexibility of a wide range of service plans to choose from. This has resulted in Google pulling the plug on online store sales for the Nexus One, the company will instead increase the availability of the Nexus One in physical stores instead, adopting a similar strategy across the pond by partnering with a bunch of mobile carriers. Good to know a corporation as large as Google is sensitive to the customers’ needs and wants, so good luck to them as they aim to surpass the iPhone’s status in the smartphone market with this latest initiative.
