Google turns My Tracks GPS Android app open source

Google took the open source route with the My Tracks GPS Android app which is capable of letting folks record where they have been in the past, where such journeys will be logged into Google Docs, followed by the ability to post their trip maps online. It is hoped that by turning it open source, My Tracks will become better than ever thanks to future contributions from savvy users and developers, where one too can expect more applications to work side-by-side with My Tracks. If you happen to be a programmer with a brilliant idea on enhancing how My Tracks will work, you can also turn this into another revenue stream by charging money.
