HTC Wildfire Powered By Android 2.1

HTC has introduced a new model to its entry-level smartphone lineup, the HTC Wildfire. One of the nicer improvements of the HTC Wildfire is its use of a capacitive touchscreen instead of the resistive touchscreens that are common on entry-level phones. The HTC Wildfire should be shipping to Asia and Europe sometime this summer, and should be economically priced. The downside is that there hasn’t been any mention of a North American release just yet, but hopefully it will eventually make its way over here. Specifications include:

Press release

  • Android 2.1
  • 5-megapixel camera
  • HTC Sense UI

  • 3G
  • Wi-Fi
  • GPS
  • 3.2-inch 320 x 240 display
  • 525MHz Qualcomm chip
  • 384MB RAM
