Internet Explorer’s browser market share has taken a slow but sure dip to go below the 60% mark for the first time in history, which is a far cry from the 95% figure that we saw all the way back in 2003. Firefox retains its second position with 24.5%, while Google’s Chrome is a fast riser, hitting 6.7% from a paltry 1.7% last year. Safari wasn’t even listed so go figure. What do you think of this scenario – will Microsoft’s Internet Explorer end up as defunct sometime down the road if this market share trend were to be extrapolated by a couple of decades?
