iPad sales reach 2M units, averaging one million per month

Apple has released an update on its iPad sales numbers that now top 2 million units in as many months. The device is now selling worldwide, and supply is still somewhat limited with about a one week delay on the iPad 3G, as of last week. “We appreciate their patience, and are working hard to build enough iPads for everyone.” says Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO.

So far 5000 iPad apps have appeared in the app store, many of them being upgrades of existing iPhone apps, some of them are exclusively iPad titles.
