Word is going around that Clearwire has changed the terms of its agreement with Intel, allowing it to ditch WiMAX in favor of LTE. According to an executive with Clearwire, the new terms now allow either party to exit the agreement, which previously forced Clearwire to use WiMAX through Nov 28th 2011, with just 30 days notice. It’s not clear if Clearwire is planning a wholesale technology change on its radio network, so it looks like we’ll have to keep an eye on this and see how things develop.
