Kaleidescape has just announced its line of M300 and M500 Blu-ray players that will aim to fill up the high end home entertainment niche, where the latter boasts Blu-ray copying capability for you to run that pirate ring – we jest. Well, at least you get to import Blu-rays, DVDs and CDs onto your server at home with this offering from Kaleidescape. Apart from that, you will require the physical disc to be inserted for playback from the server which will probably come across as a disappointment to many, simply because those with more nefarious intentions will have to find another method to circumvent this fail-safe measure. Good thing that the Kaleidescape is set to come with a disc loader that will let you house a “collection” of discs that are ready to be played back over the system. The M300 and M500 will retail for $2,495 and $3,995, respectively, when they hit the market this May 18th. Gotta love the design, don’t you think so? [Press Release]
