The soon-to-be-king HTC Evo 4G is said to be accompanied by an accessory that you might find useful – we’re talking about the Micro HDMI dock, considering the fact that Micro HDMI cables are virtually impossible to find at point of publishing. This new Micro HDMI dock will feature the new HDMI 1.4 standard to play nice with the Evo 4G, where it is touted to be fully backwards-compatible with existing HDMI devices. Early tryouts has caused users to complain about several issues, as selected TVs would only recognize the signal as 480p (instead of 1080p) while some apps such as Sprint TV simply refused to play. No idea on whether the solution is a software or hardware one, but we do hope that all will be sorted out before the Micro HDMI dock becomes mainstream.
